Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. If you have a question that isn’t fully answered, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.

To book a room at Hotel Holt you must be over 18 years old. This does not apply to children accompanied by an adult.

Our staff will be happy to assist you with all your questions before your arrival and throughout your stay with us – please contact us at or by phone +354 552 5700. The reception desk is open 24 hours.

Check-in is available from 15:00h local time. Early check is subject to availability and bookable at an additional service charge. Please inform us in advance if you arrive after midnight.

Check out time is before 11:00h local time. Later check out might be available at a surcharge. Please contact our Front Desk for assistance.

Early check-in is subject to availability but can be booked at a service charge fee. This will only be charged if available. If you would like to have guaranteed early check-in, you are welcome to book the night before at the full rate. Check with our Front Desk for any special offers!

We offer the possibility of a late check out until 14:00h. The late check out is bookable at a service charge upon availability. Please contact our Front Desk at the hotel if you would like to book this.

Our breakfast buffet is served in our restaurant daily between 07:00 to 10:00 at an additional charge of 25 EUR per person, per day. If you plan to take off early, you are welcome to order an early breakfast to go. Just let us know in advance and we will prepare it for you. Complimentary breakfast for children under 5 years old. 50% off the price for children between 6-12 yrs. From 13 years the full price will be charged. Our breakfast contains a selection of hot and cold dishes. We offer gluten free bread and almond milk and other lactose free milk options upon request.

A baby cot (0-3 years) can be provided in our Double or Twin rooms, Junior Suites and Suites free of charge. Children under the age of 12 years can stay in the parent’s bed free of charge. If an extra bed is needed, we can provide this in our Junior Suites, Suites, and Deluxe Rooms at an extra charge of 65 EUR per night. Please let us know in advance if you would like to book this.

safes are only available in our Deluxe Double Rooms, Junior Suites & Suites. Just bear in mind that we accept no liability for loss or damage to your valuables or cash.

don’t worry about carrying it all the way from home. Each room is equipped with a hairdryer.

Hotel Holt offers a laundry service for all guests of the hotel for a charge of 42 EUR per load. Addtionally we offer dry cleaning services upon request. Please contact Reception for more information.

Please note that this is a non-smoking hotel. You are welcome to smoke outside by the entrance. In accordance with Icelandic law, smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the hotel premises. Management has extended the ban to include the use of e-cigarettes. Contravening this ban inside the hotel premises may result in a charge of 350 EUR to be added to your room bill.

There is free WI-FI available for our guests. You receive the login upon check in.

Free parking is available at Hotel Holt. Please provide us with your license plate upon check in.

There are different services available for transportation. You can choose between a bus shuttle which is available from the main bus terminal, or a private car pick up directly from the hotel. Please contact our Front Desk for booking and information.

We have luggage storage at the hotel. We can store it for you while you are waiting for check in or after your check out.

Please note that different policies might apply to your booking.  Our standard flexible cancellation policy is 48 hours prior to arrival and no fee will be charged. In case of late cancellation or no show 1 night will be charged. Bookings booked at a prepaid rate cannot be cancelled or changed to another date or get refunded. If you cancel or you do not show up, the full amount of your stay will be charged. If you made your booking via a third-party website, please check their cancellation policy. Please note that for groups different terms apply. Please contact the hotel for further information. If you have made a booking via a third party, you will need to cancel or modify your reservation with them directly.

We offer additional services including birthday & flower arrangements, champagne upon arrival.

Reduce your carbon footprint and Go Green with us! We’ll only clean your room every 4th day during your stay. This means less water usage and fewer chemicals and a happier planet!

Additionally, we take action in other departments to reduce Hotel’s carbon footprint by:

  • Using geothermal heating throughout the hotel
  • We use geothermal generated electricity to power the Hotel
  • Hotel offers electrical car charging station
  • LED lighting replacement program
  • Refillable organic toiletries are offered in the rooms
  • Recycle bins in the public areas

If you need to use a 220-volt appliance, please ask reception for an adapter and/or converter. A deposit of 10 Euros will be required and returned when you return the item at checkout.

If you want to snuggle under true luxury, then it doesn’t get better than Iceland's eiderdown! Sleeping with such a duvet is a warm, light, and cozy experience. It holds a significant volume of air, thus making it very light with surprisingly temperature-regulating for year-round comfort. Now you can elevate your trip by booking eiderdown duvets for your stay. Please note that this offer is subject to availability and will only be charged if available.
