Chef de Cuisine


Friðgeir Ingi Eiríksson is Chef de Cuisine of Gallery Restaurant. He is also the owner along with his father Eiríkur Ingi Friðgeirsson, who takes care of the Hotel side of things. 

Friðgeir graduated from Iceland´s Hotel and Culinary college in 2001 after having been the Icelandic candidate at the Nordic Commis Competition in 2000. He began at Lea Linster´s restaurant in Luxemburg in 1998, was chosen Commis of the Year in 1999 when he was studying at the Gallery Restaurant. He stayed at Gallery until 2002 and was Second Chef when Ragnar Ómarsson, Iceland´s candidate and 5th place at the Bocuse d´Or 2005, was in charge.

He moved on then as Chef de Partie at Domaine de Clarifontaine, Philippe Girardon´s restaurant (Meilleur Ouvrir de France 1997). He was promoted to Second Chef de Cuisine in January 2004 and still is. Friðgeir is no newcomer to the Bocuse d´Or as he was Hákon Már Örvarsson´s commis (Bocuse de Bronze 2001) and was selected Commis of the Competition that year. Friðgeir participated in the Prix Culinaire International Taittinger 2005 and was 3rd of the first finale.
